Brotherhood

The most important  part of any fraternity, brotherhood is the quality that binds us to one another.  At Phi Kappa Tau, we believe that true universal brotherhood can only be achieved by caring for the community as a whole and treating each person as though they are a neighbor.

Phi Kappa Tau celebrates brotherhood by creating a unique social calendar filled with socials, dated parties, formals, and alumni events to enhance our relationships both within our brotherhood and outside of Greek Life.  Second, the house plans service and philanthropy projects in order to strengthen the community and create strong, long-lasting ties with our college.

Learning

More and more undergraduates are looking for a fraternity that will complement their rigorous academic course load, not get in the way of it.  At Phi Tau, academics are taken very seriously.  The average marks have been well above the all men’s average 4 out of the 5 last semesters, and Phi Kappa Tau boasts one of the more competitive GPAs on the Row.

The fraternity does all in its power to ensure that grades are extraordinary.  Students with exemplary grades receive a sizable discount on dues.  For struggling brothers, there are eight sponsored study hours every week at both the library and in the fraternity’s study room, and the fraternity academics chair has created a partnership with outside sources for additional help.

Finally, Phi Kappa Tau teaches you how to study smarter, not to study more.  Programs on academics and study habits, teach undergraduates how to better manage their time and get the most out of their college years.

Ethical Leadership

In this decade of corporate scandal and government inefficiency, it’s painstakingly clear that the next generation of leaders must emphasize ethical action.  Phi Kappa Tau has risen to the challenge.  Leadership consultants help each undergraduate develop, and the National Fraternity sponsors the Leadership Academy every two years, where Presidents and other chapter members learn how to effectively and ethically manage the leadership challenges of the 21st century.  In the last decade, so many of society’s most respected leaders have been Phi Taus, and we expect the next decade to be no different.

Exemplary Character

The ultimate goal of Phi Kappa Tau is to make brothers better people.  Encouraging a climate where intellectualism is encouraged and leaders act with integrity all play into building exemplary character.

A Phi Tau man cares about his community and recognizes problems.  He raises money for causes he believes in and serves the community to alleviate injustice.  He is a cause for good and stands up for virtue.  He is well rounded, loyal, and fights for what he believes in.  When Phi Tau combines each aspect of the mission statement, there is no limit to what they can create or what problem they can solve. Just ask Paul Newman, creator of Newman’s own dressing and Phi Kappa Tau’s national philanthropy: Hole in the Wall Camps
